Meet Cherise.
My Story — finding community through creation.
My love of art starts as far back as I can remember, spending summer breaks in art classes and meticulously taking my time with every creative school project. My art background is in fine art, and I have a special love for landscape, cityscape, florals, and figures.
From college dorm rooms to crowded apartments, I kept one criteria the same — space for my art supplies and an easel near the window. Finding space to create has looked very different over the years, and I am so grateful to be settled into my home studio in San Diego.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric with a focus in Narrative and Image, and Bachelor of Arts in Public Health with a focus in Community Health, from the University of California, Berkeley. After a decade in the Bay Area (Go Bears!) I've returned to my hometown in San Diego.
When I am not creating, you can usually catch me tending to my small but mighty vegetable garden, going on walks with my partner, or cuddling with my sweet husky pup.
